Moving in the right direction

Indy's made great strides in its efforts to accommodate and encourage the city's cyclists. Just in the last week, the city received kudos from U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood for its effort to increase connectivity and a bronze star award as a "Bicycle-Friendly Community" from the League of American Bicyclists. "Being named a bicycle-friendly community or employer allows you to say 'We're progressive and we care about health, fitness, the environment and livable communities,'" said Nancy Tibbett, executive director of Bicycle Indiana, in a news release announcing the award. To get in on the action, check out the Two Wheels One City event from 3-5 p.m. this Saturday, May 5, at City Market.
