Thumbs down: Public property

Peyton Manning’s RCA Dome locker is being auctioned. This is the locker the future Hall of Famer used the season the Colts won the Super Bowl, and during years when he twice won the league’s Most Valuable Player award. The locker is expected to be sold to a private bidder for a few thousand dollars; the proceeds go to charities. But it’s a shame that what will probably be an important piece of Indianapolis sports history won’t become part of the State Museum collection. That way it could belong to everybody.
