Indiana Repertory Theatre, Upperstage ; Conceived by Mark Setlock; directed by David Bradley
This Wonderful Life is a whirlwind of sight, sound and character, crammed into a 70-minute one-man show. In his IRT debut, Jerry Richardson plays the earnest George Bailey, the crotchety old Mr. Potter, the angel seeking his wings, along with every other member of Bedford in the stage adaptation of Frank Capra's classic It's a Wonderful Life. Whether you've seen the movie a hundred times, or if you couldn't tell Jimmy Stewart from Cary Grant (who originally showed interest in the movie), the energy, innocence and excitement of an old standard retold is enough to get even the biggest scrooge in the holiday spirit.
