Enjoyable if tame horror flick. Anna, fresh from a 10-month stint at a mental institution following the accidental death of her mother, is dealing with her soon-to-be step-monster as well as her spectral mother and some seemingly random ghost kids. While not terribly original (the ending uses a tactic we all know and love) and featuring pat performances from the cast (Emily Browning from Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events
as Anna, Arielle Kebbel as her sister, David Strathairn as Dad and Elizabeth Banks as the alleged gold-digger), the film has good momentum and one scene that will literally scare you out of your seat. Great scenery, too. 87 minutes.
