Stop what you are doing and go to this site:
You are being called upon to perform your duty for the men of DEVO. This is just about the coolest use of web space by a band or musician since Tommy Lee laid the kiebasa down on Pamela.
But wait! there's more! As part of record day, DEVO and the fine folks at Warner Bros. are re-releasing DEVO's horribly under-rated second album, Duty Now For the Future. "Songs like "Blockhead" and "Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA" really ramped it up and bridged the group's sound from the avant garde leanings of Q: Are We Not Men? to the MTV ready Freedom of Choice.
Later in May, New Traditionalists will get the deluxe vinyl remastered CD treatment. "Through Being Cool," "Love without Anger," "Jerkin' Back and Forth" and "the sublime "Beautiful World" put this CD in my all time Top Ten. Here's hoping we don't to wait too long for the remastered Oh No It's Devo! We all need some "Time Out For Fun." Did that sound too corny?
