The ISO gets visual

World-renowned visual artists Michael Arthur and Andre Miripolsky will use music to create works of visual art before the eyes of audiences during Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra concerts on Oct. 26 and 27. Arthur is a celebrated caricaturist whose sketches will be projected on a giant screen above the musicians. Pop artist Miripolsky, best known for coining the slogan “Fear No Art,” will bring the characters of Maurice Ravel’s Mother Goose ballet music to life on a large canvas atop the stage. In addition, the façade of the Hilbert Circle Theatre has been wrapped with Miripolsky’s images. The ISO, led by guest conductor Ludovic Morlot, will also perform works of Saint-Saëns and HK Gruber’s Frankenstein!!. The concerts both nights are at 8 p.m. and tickets range from $20 to $63. For another $20 you can dance on stage at the Saturday night ISO Halloween Party. Tickets can be ordered online at or by calling (317) 6639-4300.
