The 2011 Clean Cities Summit (Slideshow)

Clean Cities Summit hosted an Alternative Fuel and Related Technology "Day at the Track." The 2011 summit welcomed almost 200 guests from as far a New York and Tennessee to promote alternative fuel and to lessen our dependence on foreign oil.
The Clean Cities Summit displayed alternative fuel options at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Guests were able to experience the new technology first hand.
The summit gave attendees the chance to race through a "green racing" simulator.
Paula Bisoph with "Espar Petersystems" and Dennis Smith with the "Department of Energy" spoke with BioDiesel representatives Tom Verry and Jenna Higgins-Rose. BioDiesel hopes to sell one billion gallons of their alternative fuel in 2011.
The summit drew a wide audience. Attendees included city employees, universities, national truck companies, laboratories and farmers.

The Alternative Fuel Vehicle Ride 'n' Drive opened the opportunity for guests to drive propane and electric cars.
This allowed a few of the 3,000 followers to test-drive an alternative fuel vehicle.
Debra Salem, an account manager with "asg.renaissance" said they hope to bring the alternative fuel to Indianapolis' city and school bus systems.
A luncheon sponsored by: ROUSH CleanTech, CleanFuelUSA, Ferrellgas and PERC allowed attendees to talk about what new technologies their companies were exploring.
The summit allowed companies to see tangible ways they can bring alternative fuels to our city.

Hopefully this launches a positive change in our view of alternative fuel options and calls local companies to action.
