The 2009 Talbot Street Art Fair is an annual gathering of artisans in booth after booth of creative wares. Set in the charming neighborhood of Herron-Morton Place (on Talbot Street, just north of 16th Street and stretching on up to 20th Street), the festival features arts and crafts from the sophisticated to the rustic. Literally hundreds of artists have works for sale: from baskets to jewelry to photography. Surrounding neighbors get into the game with yard sales -- and within earshot is the Independent Music + Art Festival at the nearby Harrison Center. In short, it's a good day (especially Saturday) to be on the city's near Northside as the entire block comes alive. This free event takes place June 13, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and June 14, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. New this year: Don't bring your pet and don't ride or walk your bicycle through the fair (there are bicycle corrals in front of Herron High School on 16th Street).
