Stephen Beus Plays
Stephen Beus is one of the two 2006 American Pianists Association Classical Fellows. This recording explores two late Romantic composers: American Charles Griffes (1884-1920) and the more famous Russian, Alexander Scriabin (1872-1915). Griffes’ pieces include his single Piano Sonata in F, three Fantasy Pieces, three Tone Pictures and a selection from his Roman Sketches. Scriabin’s selections include many of his well-known Etudes. An interesting, well-played sampler for those wishing to explore both the familiar and the backwaters of this period.
