"Star Trek" on DVD

You don't have to be a Star Trek fan to enjoy this rollicking movie. J.J. Abrams' reboot of the 1966 TV space adventure series is fast-paced, action-packed and lots of fun. Abrams (Lost, Mission Impossible III) recognized that the lucrative franchise had run out of gas, so he goes back to the beginning. Don't worry about the plot. Just sit back and roll with the movie. The new cast is appealing and the changes (courtesy of an "alternative reality" caused by time travel) are intriguing. Original cast member Leonard Nimoy makes a welcome appearance as Spock — he even has an encounter with his earlier self (along with another more surprising encounter). After 43 years, Star Trek is once again thriving. Who'd have thought? 126 minutes. DVD INFO: Includes a commentary track, a gag reel and loads of other goodies.
