(Social Justice) Stonewall commemoration postponed

This just in: the Stonewall Commemoration listed in this week's Go & Do section for this Sunday has been postponed. Here is the message NUVO received...

It is my sad duty to inform you that Sunday's Stonewall Rally in Indianapolis has been postponed. In order to ensure that this event is a success, we have decided to postpone this event until October. We apologize to those who have agreed to speak and hope that they will still consider speaking at the event in the future. We feel it is better to wait, cancelling our current plans, in the hopes that we can provide an even better event later in the year.

It is our current hope that this event will occur on Coming Out Day on October 11th. This will fall in line with our original plan to host a satellite event of the Million Gay March which was also postponed from June 28th to October 11th. We will still be actively seeking speakers for this event.

Thank you so much for all of your continued encouragement and we sincerely apologize if we have inconvenienced anyone due to the postponing of this event. We have already put a lot of time and effort into planning, which means it will be only that much better with more time to plan and organize.
