Album Review: Sloppy Seconds "Endless Bummer"

Four stars

A better title might have been Smile, since that’s what you’ll do listening to these 18 tracks. Back in the studio after 10 years, the Indianapolis junk-rockers have assembled another irresistible collection of loud, bratty, melodic rave-ups. (Sample lyric: “You think I’ve got a drinking problem / but I think I do it pretty well.”) The best track may be the first single, “You Can’t Kill Joey Ramone,” a blistering ode to their hero that’s powered by Ace Hardwhere’s crushing, crunchy guitar riffs, but the competition is fierce. You’ll laugh, you’ll scream along, you’ll play air guitar, you’ll be energized.

Sounds like:Ramones, Beach Boys on speed and beer
