Hosted by the same people responsible for the annual art and music gala Oranje, Tanjerine (also spelled with a “j”) is a four day spin-off designed to showcase the Indy food, film and fashion.
A new event made its way on Indy's social calendar last weekend. From the guys who brought you Oranje came Tanjerine, a four-night showcase for fashion, film, food and spirits at the Sanctuary on Penn.
For four days, a rotation of food trucks and fashion vendors lined up along East Walnut outside of the Sanctuary. The 139-year-old converted church made for an interesting venue as models decked out in high fashion and bartenders concocting exotic drinks worked against a backdrop of stained glass windows, chipped plaster walls and cathedral ceilings.
The April 19 main event featured speciality cocktails, a test kitchen, video projections, interactive exhibits and DJs. It was preceded by three nights of "Tangerine Presents" events, with April 16 featuring a craft cocktail competition and film screenings, April 17 given over to a tapping of a dozen craft beers and April 18 being a "fashion preview night."
Also of note was Shop Box, a shipping container featuring work by local boutiques through all four nights, with boutiques rotating in and out of the store's offerings each night.
