Slideshow: "Put a Solar on it" Day
A coalition of more than 35 groups, that includes Organizing for Action, The Sierra Club and World Wildlife Fund, have joined together for the first National Put Solar on It Day on June 21, 2014. In celebration of the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, organizers want people to know that solar is within our capabilities - not a futuristic hope, and it is fast becoming the new reality.
A new solar system is installed every 4 minutes in America. Last year, the US solar industry employed 142,000 workers, 50% more than in 2010. Put Solar on It recognizes the local Indianapolis area businesses, churches and households that have pioneered this clean energy source. #putsolaronit.
