The 2006 Fishers Renaissance Faire is Sept. 30-Oct. 1, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., rain or shine, but let’s hope for shine!
Visitors will see a full day of entertainment, including full-armored jousting the way it was over 400 years ago. The queen and her royal court preside over the festivities as dozens of Renaissance musicians, dancers, comedians, jugglers, sword fighters, artists, storytellers and hundreds of costumed performers entertain. More than 60 craft merchants will display in the Medieval Marketplace. Master artisans demonstrate their timeless arts of jewelry making, blacksmithing, leather crafting, weaving and more.
Plus, there will be food: giant turkey legs, bread bowl stews, steak-on-a-stick, desserts and vegetarian selections.
The festival is held in Heritage Park, Fishers, at 106th and Eller Road. Admission is $6, ages 5-12 $2, ages 4 and under free. Renaissance garb is encouraged, but not required. For more information, call Jessica Volsic at 317-652-8651 or go to www.fishersrenfaire.com.
