Sculptures we sit on

More Than Four Legs: A Closer Look at Chairs, a new exhibit at the Indianapolis Museum of Art’s Star Studio, invites visitors to look at chairs as the culmination of personal expression and innovative design. The exhibition primarily includes chairs from the collection of Carla Atwood Hartman, granddaughter of famed furniture designers Charles and Ray Eames, and features many original Eames designs, as well as classic chairs by Emeco and designers Gaetano Pesce and Olivier Mourgue. Pieces from the IMA collection and Oldfields-Lilly House and Gardens will also be on view. The exhibit is up through Dec. 31, and the IMA is located at 4000 Michigan Road.
