Riverdance: The Journey

Riverdance remains powerful in its storytelling of people connected to place with music, dance, story, poetry. The original soaring, enigmatic imprint of Michael Flatley remains and is implemented by new ideas for this farewell tour depicting the human journey. Throughout, this visually sumptuous performance shows people from disparate places, under differing conditions and across time coming to terms with the world and with themselves. The entire company carries forward the strong dancing that took our breath away 25 years ago. Particularly audience pleasing was the baritone rendition of "Heal Their Hearts" and the good-natured bravado of "Trading Taps" -- a routine pitting Irish step-dancers against U.S. street dancers and their eventual distinctive amalgamation.
