Richard Dawkins at IU-Bloomington

One of the pre-eminent writers on evolution over the last 30 or more years, evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins will give a free lecture in the IU Auditorium on Monday, starting at 7:00 p.m. Dawkins will be hawkin' his new book The Greatest Show on Earth, the tome he hopes will quiet the noise generated by anti-evolutionists. Good luck with that! Dawkins introduced the term "meme" way back in '76 and also was the subject of an episode of South Park. His appearance is part of IU's themed semester, 'Themester 2009: Evolution, Diversity and Change' - later in the semester, the theory of intelligent design will be debated. Don't tell Dawkins that; it will just make him grumpy. Makes us grumpy, too. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and despite seating capacity of 3200 evolved butts, IU Auditorium is going to fill up, so we suggest you get there early! For more info, see:
