Rain Garden Volunteer Event

When: Sat., Nov. 10, 1-3 p.m. 2012
Please consider joining us this Saturday for our final volunteer event of the year: we will finish our rain garden and be ready to go next spring when rainy weather arrives once again (we hope). The rain garden is designed to accommodate overflow from our cistern and rainwater catchment system, and our work on Saturday will include a small amount of digging, followed by planting native wildflowers and grasses and spreading mulch around the new plants.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about rain gardens and residential water conservation--and it is also a way to earn credit in the Make Change water currency program being launched in Mapleton-Fall Creek! Credits can be used to rent your plot in our community garden this spring, or used to buy a garden-inspired menu item from Unleavened Bread Cafe.
