Quick movie review: "Adam"

Writer-director Max Mayer's Adam is an intriguing little film about a man with a mental disability and the first woman who tries to understand him. Hugh Dancy plays Adam, a socially troubled young man with Asperger's syndrome who has an obsession for astronomy. Rose Byrne is Beth, who has moved into Adam's apartment building and finds this quirky individual attractive, if not somewhat strange. Dancy and Byrne have a clear chemistry and the film gives their characters a lot of detail in their development. There are plenty of laughs in Adam, but in those laughs is a touching tenderness.
