Poetry for the public 

Chris Forhan, a new assistant professor of poetry at Butler University and recipient of a 2007 National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing Fellowship, will teach a course for the community, “The Poet and the Poem: The Craft of Writing Poetry,” Tuesdays from Sept. 4-Dec. 4, 7:15-9:45 p.m. in Jordan Hall Room 306. It’s open to poets of all levels. Cost is $200. For more information, contact Barbara Dadkhah at 317-940-9293. Participants will study the works of three poets, including two who will be appearing at Butler this year, Galway Kinnell and Adam Zagajewski.
