The Nourishing Our Children Conference, held last Saturday at Carmel Friends Church, was a sold-out event, with over 250 participants treated to multiple presentations and vendors. Speakers included Peter Kunz, M.D., owner (along with his wife, Jane) of Trader’s Point Creamery, Kevin Logan, M.D., local physician exploring alternative means to health and well-being, and Susan Fite, an Indianapolis nutrition expert.
Sara Slipher, co-founder and chapter leader of the local Weston A. Price Foundation, discussed the work of Price, a Depression-era dentist who traveled around the world to find villages where good dental health was the norm, then analyzed the villagers’ diets.
The event, co-sponsored by Indianapolis Chapter of Weston A. Price Foundation (www.indywapf.com) and Walnut Grove Christian Preparatory School (www.walnutgroveschool.org), also featured various vendors, including local farmers whose products were created or raised by the most healthy means possible.
Food was provided by Chef Thomas England.
