* Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre will present a New Year's Eve Party with dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. Live entertainment and dancing to the Beef & Boards Orchestra will follow the final performance of "A Beef & Boards Christmas 2008." See the ball drop on Times Square via two big screens and celebrate with a balloon drop, champagne toast and a breakfast buffet. Tickets are $72-$88. Reservations: 317-872-9664,, 9301 N. * The New Year's Eve Extravaganza at ComedySportz includes performances at 7:30 p.m. and a New Year's Eve Countdown match at 10:30 p.m. The holiday-themed matches will include games such as "Sideline New Year's Resolution," "Countdown" and "Advice for the New Year." The late match will end at midnight with a New Year's toast. Guests will get party hats, noise makers and a sparkling grape juice toast. Both matches are family-friendly. Tickets for the 7:30 match are $15, students and seniors $12, kids 5-11 $8, and for the 10:30 match $20, $18 students/seniors and ages 2-11 $12. * The Indiana History Center presents "Anything Goes: The Cole Porter Review," 7:30 p.m.-1 a.m. The center will be transformed into a 1940s-era nightclub for a romantic evening of classic Cole Porter standards. Dancing will be accompanied by a band with vocalists performing Porter's music throughout the evening, in addition to a staged cabaret show about Porter's life and music. Guests will get a multicourse meal with a glass of wine served by costumed waitstaff and complimentary hats and noisemakers will be distributed for a midnight balloon drop and complimentary champagne toast. * New Year's Eve at the Cabaret: The Best Retro Party in Indianapolis will be held 9 p.m.-1 a.m. at the American Cabaret Theatre, 401 E. Michigan St. Cool City Band, featuring cabaret favorites Shannon Forsell and the "King of Northern Soul" Jimmy Guilford, will perform a retro blend of swing and soul to accompany dance lessons with Naptown Stomp. Plus, the event features a wine and beer tasting, desserts, party favors, cash bar and a champagne toast at midnight. Admission is $25 and you must be 21 and older. Call 317-631-0334,

* The Manhattan Rhythm Kings will join the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for New Year's Eve concert at 9 p.m. Selections will include popular works by Johan Strauss Jr., plus Gershwin's "An American in Paris," popular tunes by Leroy Anderson and many hits from the American popular songbook from the 1920s, '30s and '40s. A post-concert party will be held in lobby that includes a champagne toast, cash bar, light hors d'oeuvres and dancing to the music of the Paul Berns Orchestra. Tickets are $35-$60, with the Champagne Box Seats for $150 per couple, which includes complimentary champagne and chocolates served by waiters during the concert. * Get out of town and see Diane Kondrat and Karen Irwin take on 12 roles and 13 taboos in the IndyFringe hit "Assholes and Aureoles" in the Rose Firebay of The Waldron in Bloomington. Show are at 8 and 10 p.m.; tickets are $25, available at The Waldron is located at 122 S. Walnut.
