The American Super Heroes Museum opened last weekend. It features one of only two complete sets of screen-worn Superman costumes, artifacts from Superman and Batman movies and television episodes, thousands of licensed toys, posters and collectibles. A replica 1989 Michael Keaton Batmobile from Batman and a replica 1966 Adam West Batboat will be added to the museum at a later date.
The museum is located at 20 W. Louisiana St. in the Wholesale District and is situated in approximately 3,300 square feet of space in the turn-of-the-century Lofts Building. Dane Nash, a resident of Fishers, Ind., is the owner of the collection that will encompass the Heroes Museum. Nash is a life-long collector of Superman memorabilia and a recognized authority on Superman.
Operating hours for the museum are Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission is $5, children under 8 free and seniors $3. All active police, fire and military personnel are admitted free.
