Two big shows and more Sept. 4 at the Harrison Center for the Arts, 1505 N. Delaware St. The theme is myths -- about addiction and medicine. In Gallery No. 2, the Harrison Center and the Emberwood Center (an addiction treatment facility) have collaborated for a show dealing with myths of addiction, featuring works by Elyce Elder, Kipp Normand, Austin Dickson, Mark Alan Miller and Mike Mayer. Then, in the Harrison Gallery, a show about medical myths, inspired by the book Don't Swallow Your Gum
, with works by Erin K. Drew, Jeremy Efroymson and Austin Dickson. There will also be a cycling performance in the gym, a silent auction to benefit Emberwood Center in the Underground and new work by Maren Bell in Hank & Dolly's Gallery, not to mention open studios throughout the building.
