To the great minds of Louisville, the best funky thing going on this summer is Lebowski Fest, June 18-20. Basically, it’s a convention of geeks who worship The Big Lebowski, the Coen Brothers’ paean (loosely speaking) to bowling. Attendees come from across the country and even overseas to compare notes with like-minded fans. They dress in costume, they bowl, they watch the film and they drink beer. A lot of beer. At this year’s festival, the film will be screened at the brand new Brown-Forman Amphitheater, following a concert by Louisville’s My Morning Jacket and Bare Jr. Go to www.lebowskifest.com for more details.
