The Latino Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence
will host "A Comer," a new fundraiser for the organization. The event, dubbed the First Latino Food Festival and Cultural Luncheon in Indiana, aims to promote cultural awareness of Indiana's Latino communities. All funds raised will aid in the Latino Coalition's mission of providing services to victims of domestic
and sexual violence in the Latino communities.
Participants are invited to come taste a variety of Latino food selections from tacos to pupusas. Cultural presentations of dancing, music, and literature will provide entertainment throughout the luncheon.
"A Comer" will highlight the diversity of Indiana's Latino communities and strive to increase an awareness and understanding of the culture. The rich diversity in Indiana's Latino communities is evident in food preparation, clothing, and music, and all will be exhibited at the luncheon.
The food festival
will be held on Friday, June 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel.
