It's stuff yourself week, as the turkey seems to be the bird of choice. However, there are other birds to enjoy that are not as weighty on your scale. Jazz doesn't add a thing to your waist, and there are plenty of venues in which to sample the sounds this week.

Circle City Bar & Grille, 350 W. Maryland St. in the Marriott, has the smooth Latin-flavored sounds of Conga Jazz Saturday, Nov. 29 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Agios, 635 Mass. Ave., will be closed Thanksgiving.
Nicky Blaine's, 1 N. Meridian St., will be closed Thanksgiving but has Cozy & Her Fellas on Mondays, The Four Sexes Tuesday and the Tom Mullinix Quartet Wednesday. Music each night runs 9 p.m. to midnight.
Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, 45 Illinois St., "Sizzling Steaks & Jazz Sundays" presents the guitar sounds of the Bill Lancton Trio Nov. 30 from 7 to 10 p.m.
St. Elmo Steakhouse, Illinois Street at Circle Centre, has saxophonist Rob Dixon's Quartet playing 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3.
The Jazz Kitchen, 54th Street and College Avenue, will be closed for dining Thanksgiving but opens at 8 p.m. for Latin Dance Night. Party with the sounds of Dog Talk Friday, Nov. 28. The return from New York of Indy legendary drummer "Killer" Ray Appleton's Quartet featuring Steve Allee on piano and Jamey Abersold on alto sax is Saturday, Nov. 29. Sets both nights are 8:30 and 10:30 p.m.
Sullivans Steakhouse, 3316 E. 86th St. Keystone at the Crossing, will be closed Thanksgiving. Claude Sifferlen on piano, Joe Deal on bass and Bryson Kern on drums stir it up Friday, Nov. 28 from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 29 with hot jazz from 5 to 11 p.m.

Midtown Grill, 815 E. Westfield Blvd., presents solo jazz piano by Dave Hepler on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday playing 7 to 10 p.m.
Keystone Grill, 8650 Keystone Crossing Blvd., features Steve Corn on piano and Fred Withrow on bass weekly playing 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturdays.
The New Fountain Lounge, 30th Street and MLK Drive, has The Art of Musiq guesting with The Jason Curry Group Wednesday, Nov. 26 from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Sangiovese Restaurant, 4110 E. 82nd St., will be closed Thanksgiving. Each week it features the dynamic voice of Brenda Williams with David Meeks on keyboards and Frank Smith on bass Wednesdays. Solo jazz pianist Frank Puzzullo plays Fridays. Performances each night are from 7 to 10 p.m.
More holiday jazz concerts
The Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra will hold its annual Big Band Christmas Extravaganza Friday, Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. in the Community Life Center, 10535 E. Washington St. For tickets call 396-2513 or 396-3704.
The Indiana Historical Society will host the holiday concert "The Journey to Christmas" featuring Marvin Chandler and Jack Gilfoy with their favorite singers and sidemen. Date is Thursday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the Indiana Historical Society.
