"Is Anybody There?" quick movie review

Quirky coming-of-age story with a great performance by Michael Caine. Growing up in a family-run rest home has left young Edward (Bill Milner from Son of Rambow) obsessed with death and what happens afterward. In the course of pestering the elderly residents of the place, he gradually befriends grumpy retired magician Clarence (Caine). Nothing new plot-wise, but the oddball heart-warmer has a melancholy charm and the acting is aces. The rapport between Caine and Milner is satisfying. 92 minutes.
