IndyFringe review: "Hypothetically Stupid"

This comedy act definitely seems to be aimed at the 13-16 age group, most of whom seem to love the show's fast-paced sketch comedy format. Interestingly, much of the group's best sketches reference 1980s pop culture (Breakfast Club, Say Anything), which seems, in some ways, to be lost on the younger audience. John Patrick Coan and Matt Kramer have a natural chemistry, which is refreshing and enjoyable to watch, though their comedy doesn't always seem to hit the mark. Funny '80s references aside, the show focuses primarily on physical comedy in the vein of MadTV. The act's funniest moments come when previous sketches are referenced again later, adding a humorous continuity to the show. Great fun for teenagers, but older folks may find the humor aimed somewhere else. Thursday, 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, 7:30 p.m.
