First off, you really ought to get to this IndyTalks event by some mode other than a solo-piloted car — foot, bike, bus, car pool, helicopter (well, maybe not). Why? a) It's just a good idea in general; but also b) Thursday is national Dump the Pump Day; and c) the “missing link” to solving our energy/environmental/transportation crisis may well you, and you ought to get off your ass (and we include ourselves in that “you,” if you know what we mean). The Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority's Ehren Bingaman and Health by Design’s Kim Irwin will kick things off with a short 10-minute introduction giving the lay of the land. Then come the small-group discussions, which will focus on CIRTA and the Indiana Citizens Alliance for Transit's plan for developing a comprehensive transportation system for central Indiana.
