Traders Point Creamy opens Creamery Café The people who have brought you organic yogurt drinks, gourmet cheeses and rich whole milk from grass-fed cows for several years now have paired up with Chef Jennifer Luttrell at a new eatery in Zionsville. The Creamery Café is now open Wednesday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the creamery's Saturday winter market. Trained in the preparation of local and seasonal ingredients, Luttrell's repertoire of café recipes includes chicken cacciatore with fennel and kalamata olives, coconut-curry tempeh with pineapple salsa, carrot ginger soup and pears poached in raspberry and zinfandel wine. City Market presents "The Cookie Cabaret" Limited tickets are available for a rare but packed night of festivities at City Market this Friday, Nov. 25. "The Cookie Cabaret" will feature a whole menu of fun family-friendly activities, including appearances by Melchior Marionettes, pianist Sean Baker and Fred and Ginger, the dancing first family of Gingerbread Village, a festive, holiday-inspired exhibit on Whistler Plaza. Snacks and holiday food will be served. Ticket holders will then be whisked off to the 14th floor of The Circle Tower Building for a great view of the lighting of Monument Circle. The cabaret will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 for families of two adults and children under 18, $40 for two adults and $25 for one adult. If you just want to stop by to see Gingerbread Village, the cheery Yuletide town is open from noon to 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays from Nov. 25 to Dec. 17. Area high school music groups will perform Saturday evenings on the Village stage. R Bistro, Elements and Scholar's Inn each served 104 people in three sittings, with a bus driving diners from restaurant to restaurant at intervals of about 40 minutes. The restaurants hope to collaborate on more such events in the future. Special events at Oakleys Two upcoming events at Oakleys Bistro, 1464 W. 86th St., will celebrate milestones and Chef Oakley's favorite wines. On Saturday, Dec. 3 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. the Bistro will celebrate its third anniversary in business. Stop in and toast the occasion with a glass of champagne. On Sunday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m., Chef Oakley is planning to feature his top five favorite wines from his 2005 trips to California vineyards for this year's final signature dinner. Each of the locations of Café Patachou (49th and Pennsylvania, River Crossing and in Carmel off 126th and Gray Road) will have an area to receive sock donations. Starting Nov. 21, children dining at Café Patachou will be able to decorate a stocking-shaped sugar cookie at their table for $2 (per child). All profits from the sale of the cookie decorating will be donated to the Alluhudin Orphanage in Afghanistan. Restaurant "news" Chez Jean Bakery on Massachusetts Avenue has closed, but Chez Jean Gourmet Express is now open at 30 S. Meridian. Hard Times Café on West Maryland recently closed with little further explanation. Cibo, which replaced Vizion Restaurant at 5252 E. 82nd St., opened to great fanfare on Friday evening, Nov. 18.
