Chipotle Mexican Grill
On Friday, July 16, Indianapolis will welcome its first two Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurants. The award-winning, quick-service gourmet burrito joints will be dishing up their critically acclaimed, 20-ounce, gourmet burritos and tacos at 3340 W. 86th St. and 1422 Keystone Way in Carmel. T-shirts, hats and other signature novelties will be given away throughout the day. If weather permits, Chipotle's 12-foot "burrito blimp" will be flying high outside the new location to add to the festivities.
To help celebrate the restaurants' arrival, free burritos and soft drinks will be available on Thursday, July 15 to all comers from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
At Chipotle there's the same attention to detail in the preparation of the entrees usually found in much higher priced restaurants: toasting and crushing whole, premium-quality spices; making guacamole in-house daily with the highest grade of perfectly ripe Haas avocados; continuously grilling never-frozen, marinated meats, including free-range Niman Ranch pork for its carnitas and Bell & Evans chicken; preparing kosher-salted tortilla chips daily; and steaming a new batch of rice every hour - or more often - and mixing it with just-plucked cilantro leaves and freshly-squeezed lime juice.
Hours at the restaurants are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
