The Wine Opener is a national wine tasting series to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Locally, The Wine Opener will be held Friday, Feb. 27, 6:30-10 p.m. at the Children's Museum.
From wine novices to advanced wine enthusiasts, The Wine Opener is a casual and fun evening for all experience levels. Sip great wines poured by international and domestic wineries. Savor great cuisine presented by local restaurants, where the area's hottest chefs prepare their specialties. Discover the Marketplace, where local and national purveyors of fine foods, liqueurs, wines and wine-related items present interactive displays. Guests will also be treated to a lively auction and live entertainment.

Realizing the growing trend of nouveau cooking at home, Marsh Supermarket added four Lifestyle Food Markets to its grocery store chain. The stores offer the serious shopper the freshest selections of meat, dairy, seafood and produce.
Store Manager Jay Chuck will discuss the lifestyle concept, product procurement and the new shopping experience for Marsh customers. Samples will be provided and the store's chef will be in attendance. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers and networking.

Dining à la Heart 2004, the 13th annual hearth-healthy tasting, will be held Feb. 29, 5-8 p.m. at the Ritz Charles, 12156 N. Meridian St., Carmel. Events will include an extravagant array of heart-healthy entrees, salads, sides and desserts prepared by over 20 of the area's finest chefs; entertainment by jazz musicians Cathy Morris and Dr. Stan Hill; silent and super-silent auctions.
