"Indianapolis Monthly" Taste of Indianapolis
Now in its 13th year, this event will be held Thursday, April 24, 5:30-8 p.m. in the Saks Fifth Avenue wing at The Fashion Mall at Keystone at the Crossing. You are invited to sample food from the many city"s best restaurants, including winners of the 2003 Indianapolis Monthly Reader"s Choice Awards. Advance sale tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for children 12 and under, and are available at Indianapolis-area Marsh Supermarkets. Call 317-684-8332 for more information. Tickets are still available for the 12th Annual Wine Cornucopia on May 9, at the Indiana Convention Center. Considered by many to be the area"s premier wine tasting event, the event will also include an hors d"oeuvre buffet, mini-seminars by a California winemaker, music by the Jack Gilfoy Trio and art by local artist Betty C. Boyle. General admission is $35 ($40 at the door), and tickets for the prestige area are $75 per person, which includes general admission. Tickets may be obtained from any 21st Amendment location.
Australian Wine Dinner at Agio
On Thursday, May 1, Agio will present a multicourse dinner featuring Australian wines prepared by Chef Joseph Heidenreich. Wineries include Yalumba, Peter Lehmann and Mak of Coonawarra. Indy"s Gourmet To Go
The latest addition to Fountain Square"s burgeoning dining scene is Indy"s Gourmet to Go, located at 1043 S. Virginia Ave., next to Deano"s Vino. Serving breakfast and lunch and offering excellent house-baked breads, there"s something here for just about everyone. Sandwiches include a roast beef and Swiss for $5.49 and a specialty Poor Boy for $4.20. The menu also includes 10 percent pizzas for $6.99 and three styles of chicken wings. And let"s not forget the best Baklava in town prepared by NUVO"s own Mary Lee Pappas.
