Beaujolais Nouveau The Beaujolais Nouveau is out, and the verdict is pretty favorable overall, which bodes well for the traditionally-produced wines that will be released next year. The most readily-available Nouveau is from Georges Duboeuf. This year"s offering is bright and forward, with banana and bubblegum aromas, soft tannins and juicy, ripe fruit flavors. Not as widely available, but of a very fine quality is the Domaine Dupeuble from Kermit Lynch Imports. This is a more structured, earthy style that might lack the estery brightness of the Duboeuf but more than makes up for it with a firm backbone and food-friendly acidity. Both wines are available from better stores and should retail for under $10.
