Formula One Champagne Tasting
Circle City Bar & Grille is hosting their Ultimate Champagne Tasting on Thursday, Sept. 26, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. to kick off the Formula One Race Weekend. The restaurant is located at 350 W. Maryland St., inside the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown. Featured champagnes include six selections from Perrier Jouet and Mumm with specialty hors d"oeuvres, selected by Executive Chef Michael Vlasich, including crab seviche, seared duck breast and an array of French cheeses. Music will be provided by the Tom Earl Trio and champagne expert Michel Pascal of 21st Amendment Wine Gallery will be there to answer any questions.
"We are really excited about this event," said Michael Moros, director of food and beverage for the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown. "This is an opportunity for downtown residents and hotel guests to kick off Formula One Race Weekend in a unique way."
The evening is priced at $39 per person and includes complimentary valet parking and an opportunity to win one of three magnums of champagne including Mumm Cordon Rouge and Perrier Jouet, overnight packages at the Marriott and dinner certificates from Circle City Bar & Grille. Tatachilla Winemaker Dinner
On Thursday, Oct. 3, The Scholars Inn in Bloomington will host a six-course dinner highlighting new releases of wines from Australia and New Zealand. Guests of honor will be Justin McNamee, chief winemaker at Tatachilla winery in McLaren Vale, South Australia, and Jay Youmans of Rock Creek Wine Merchants, importers of many fine estates from Australia. Featured wines will include Jackson Estate New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, Balnaves Coonawarra Chardonnay and three different Shiraz and Shiraz blends from Tatachilla. All wines have been highly rated in the press and can be ordered at the event. Tickets are $65 per person excluding tax and gratuity.
