Restaurant Notes

After three years of running restaurants in various locations, Decadent by Design will close its doors this Friday, Dec. 22, citing the health of Chef Kathy Jones as the reason for the closing. The kitchen team will continue to run its catering operations out of a yet-to-be determined new location.

Chipotle has partnered with Second Helpings of Indianapolis for a “Pasta Drive.” Bring three boxes of pasta into any Indianapolis-area Chipotle through Dec. 22 and receive a free burrito.

Looking for a new holiday cocktail? Marian Jansen op de Haar, wine director for Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse, suggests the “Pom Royale.” To 1 ounce of pomegranate juice, add 5 ounces of well-chilled champagne or sparkling wine. Top with a splash of simple syrup (2 cups sugar and 1 cup water brought to a boil and then cooled).

New Year’s Eve

The Artist’s Vineyard, 68 N. Ninth St., Noblesville, will host a New Year’s Eve bash from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Dec. 31. The event includes live music, free appetizers, door prizes and champagne at midnight. Tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple in advance. Call 317-219-3481 for reservations.

R bistro will open for three New Year’s Eve seatings on Dec. 31 at 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Cost is $55 per person. Call 317-423-0312 for more details. R bistro is also offering two of its signature pies for the holiday season. The “1929” Lemon Cake Pie and the Buttermilk Pie are both available for $20 apiece.

Circle City Bar & Grille at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown, 350 W. Maryland St., will offer a New Year’s Eve three-course prix fixe dinner from 6 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 31. Cost is $65 per person. A Bloody Mary Buffet and à la carte brunch will be offered from 6:30 a.m. to noon on Jan. 1, 2007. The buffet is $12.95 per person. Call 317-405-6100 for information about both events.

The Oceanaire Seafood Room, 30 S. Meridian St., is offering a four-course dinner at 5 p.m. on Dec. 31. Cost is $75 per person. Call 317-955-2277 for more information.

L’Explorateur is offering two New Year’s Eve seatings at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. with a midnight toast included with the second. Cost is $65 per person. Call 317-726-6906 for reservations.

Oakley’s Bistro, 1464 W. 86th St., is accepting reservations between 5 and 10 p.m. and will have a three-course menu for $50 or a four-course menu for $65. Call 317-824-1231 to book your spot now.

Bourbon Street Distillery, 361 Indiana Ave., will present the music of Michael Shelton and Matt Roberts on Dec. 31, from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. The restaurant will offer dinner specials with no cover charge. Call 317-636-3316 for more information.

Hard Rock Café Indianapolis, 49 S. Meridian St., will feature Endobent performing live on New Year’s Eve from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Reservations are not required, but call 317-636-2550 for details.
