The 11th Annual 2007 Indianapolis Air Show will be held Aug. 25-26 at Mt. Comfort Airport, 3867 N. Aviation Way, Greenfield. In addition to the headlining U.S. Navy Blue Angels, attractions include historic fighter planes; bombers, trainers and transports; civilian and special effects; and on-field attractions and activities. Joining the Blue Angels are the Leap Frogs, the Navy’s parachute team. For the first time ever, the U.S. Army Sky Soldiers will perform, flying four Cobra Attack helicopters in low-level precision demonstrations.
Special guests at the show include famous aerobatic pilots Sean D. Tucker and Team Oracle, Greg Koontz, Lucas Oil-sponsored Mike Wiskus and Geico’s Tim Weber.
The Air Force Reserve Jet Car will also be on hand; the car, which can reach 400 mph, can race an aircraft. Displays include the military history exhibit, photography contest and Warbirds display. Other events not to miss: local and national stunt fliers and pyrotechnicians, classic cars and planes, the NASA Space Camp and the Virtual Army Experience.
