Writer Amy Tan will speak as part of the Celebration of Diversity Distinguished Lecture Series Tuesday; 940-6444.

Amy Tan will open the Butler University 2004-’05 Celebration of Diversity Distinguished Lecture Series. She will speak on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Clowes Memorial Hall.

Tan is one of the most highly acclaimed writers of our time. Her works include The Joy Luck Club (which was turned into a movie), The Kitchen God’s Wife, The Hundred Secret Senses, The Bonesetter’s Daughter and two children’s books. In 2003, Tan published a collection of non-fiction work, The Opposite of Fate. Admission is free of charge, although tickets must be obtained at the Clowes box office.
