Indianapolis Arthritis Walk

This year’s walk will start in Military Park and run along the canal in downtown Indianapolis. One mile and three mile routes are both available. Registration will open at 8:30 a.m. A Health Fair, Kids’ Zone and Mini Movement Demonstrations will also begin then. Fundraising prizes will be handed out at 9:30 a.m. with the walk scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.

Registration for the Arthritis Walk is free. Walkers are encouraged to participate, individually or on teams, to help raise money to support critical arthritis research, health education and government advocacy programs. Those who raise more than $100 will receive a t-shirt.

This year’s Arthritis Walk honorees are 14-year old Emily Gebhardt, a freshman at Hamilton Southeastern High School who was diagnosed with arthritis at the age of eight and Franki Greiner, an Indianapolis woman, first diagnosed with the disease when she was just 27 years old. This year’s medical honoree is Dr. R. Michael Meneghini, an orthopedic surgeon at IU Health Saxony Medical Center.
