One of the largest Indian markets in the Midwest hits its 20th anniversary this year. The Indian Festival and Market — presented by the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art and held across the canal from the museum in Military Park — will feature more than 160 artists, as well as food, activities and music by Native American artists both contemporary and traditional. On the bill are the million-selling fusion group Brule; Git-Hoan (The people of the salmon), a Tsimshian dance group from Metlakatla, Alaska; and David R. Boxley, an artist and storyteller also from the Tsimshian tribe. Michael Horse (who played Deputy Hawk on Twin Peaks, among other work) will emcee the entertainment, and Woodland Wams will build a Shawnee encampment representative of the French and Indian period during the course of the event.
