Rated PG; 3 stars
Luke Wilson plays a profoundly depressed man whose desire to be left alone in his recently purchased California suburban home is confounded when a neighbor (Adrianna Barrazza) spots what she believes to be the image of Christ in a stain on his stuccoed wall. Add in a charming next door neighbor (Radha Mitchell) with a gorgeous little daughter (Morgan Lily) and you get a leisurely-paced mix of comedy and pathos. The story is contrived, but it moved me. 101 minutes.
