Colin Lime, after a decade of music-making in New York City and Chicago and a brief respite in Indianapolis, is going west.
And he has a brand new record full of dark, grinding rock to bring with him. Lime celebrated the release of Future Lover's Summoning
at Libertine — where he works — last weekend. Today, we're bringing you a track from the new album. Lime has announced his intentions to head west to Los Angeles to concentrate on music.
Here's more details, excerpted from an associated release:
"He has returned for a brief stop-over in Indiana to concentrate, in earnest, on Future Lover’s debut album which he describes as “A journey through my psyche."
Summoning and its title track are aimed at creating one's own reality by ushering the inner and connected self into the world. This is a singular vision, and all vocals and instruments with the exception of saxophone were played by Colin. All ten songs were written, performed, recorded and produced in his home studio, Moon Boy Studio, with final mixing done at Postal Recording in Indianapolis. Echoing the maxim “Go West, young man, go West,” Colin has set his sights on Los Angeles with plans to move in August 2016."
Lime says of this record's sound:
"...it's like a time traveler from the '80s has materialized in a crystal cave in the ancient past with a bonfire, a drum, a handheld computer and a guitar...he's taking some time to collect himself...he's just arrived from a visit to the distant musical future..."
is out today on Crystal Cave Records. You can buy it here.
Lime says he'll play shows in July and all through August to support Summoning.
