The Butler University Seminar on Religion and World Civilization presents Rabia Mathai, a former senior vice president of public policy in the Catholic Medical Mission Board's South Asian division. She also served as the organization's vice president of global program policy and planning for 20 years.
Mathai will speak about the outreach that religious-based groups do in India and the rest of Asia, particularly in the healthcare field. She will discuss the unique dynamics of the region, where most of the work to combat poverty and other developing world problems is done by Christian organizations in majority Hindu, Muslim, and Buddhist communities.
