Distinguished artist Harriett Richardson returns to her Indianapolis roots for a visual arts exhibition at the Madame Walker Theatre Center (617 Indiana Ave.) March 21-22 to celebrate National Women in History Month. Richardson is a master's prepared artist, and a product of Indianapolis Public Schools. She has been been commissioned and produced artwork for celebrities, including Ruby Dee & Ossie Davis, Olympian Wilma Rudolph, former Indianapolis Mayor William Hudnut, actress Ester Rowe, musicians Issac Hayes and Wes Montgomery, and many more. Richardson will engage in dialogue regarding her works, which will all be available for purchase. The exhibit opens Saturday from 1-8 p.m. and continues Sunday from 2-6 p.m. For more information, call 317-236-2099.
