Over this upcoming week, a plethora of great bands will be performing in the Indy area. Here are just a select few of the intriguing and possibly new bands to check out on your Monday afternoon.
Hands Like Houses, an Australian experimental rock group, emerged into the popular indie scene more recently this past year, and they bring an energetic and individual sound to any song they play. Jukebox the Ghost, a trio of "music survivors" turned pop rock band, gained more popularity recently. They deliver energetic, catchy lyrics and dance-inducing jams. This band's interesting style and carefully chosen lyrics will make you want to get up and dance. Their songs pair perfectly with a car ride, a walk in the park, or bedroom chill time. Mike Adams at His Honest Weight are Bloomington locals always sure to impress. Their unique pop tracks bring a great spin on classic sounds. Check out their song, "I'm Worried" off of their most recent album Best of Boiler Classics.
Chiasma, a progressive metal/rock band seeks to inject emotion and life into their work, and they "thrive on improvisation." Their dedication and passion for their music and performing is intriguing and you should definitely check them out.
Linkin Park, the wildly popularized early aughts band that swept the nation with 2002 hit, "In the End" from the album Hybrid Theory is the eccentric nu-metal band. Listen to their 2012 hit, "Burn It Down" from LIVING THINGS below and check out their newest album titled The Hunting Party.
