Ironically, the best way to learn more about history is by using large advancements in technology to make us 21st century Hoosiers aware of what life was like back in the day. The Indiana History Center utilizes this by infusing live actors with holograms and fog screens in the You Are There installations, making it seem like visitors have suddenly traveled through time. Exhibits like this go well beyond the traditional museum experience, and actors in the exhibits have frequently brought visitors to tears with how realistic it truly feels.
