Déjà Vu

Three stars (PG-13)

Denzel Washington, Paula Patton, Val Kilmer, James Caviezel, Adam Goldberg

The third collaboration between Denzel Washington and director Tony Scott (Crimson Tide, Man on Fire) is a disposable, but engaging time-travel thriller set in post-Katrina New Orleans. Washington plays an ATF agent, investigating the explosion of a tourist-packed ferry, who gets to use a new top secret investigative tool — a machine that can look four days into the past. In short order, he finds himself with a lady to save (Patton) and someone to chase (Caviezel). The story is goofy and riddled with gaps in the internal logic, but it’s fairly easy to just roll with it. 128 minutes.

DVD INFO: Includes alternate scenes, deleted scenes, extended scenes and a featurette.
