Dim bulb

Incandescent bulbs are not recyclable and also nontoxic

Can older type light bulbs be recycled? What can be done with them?

I don’t want to show my age here, but I believe you’re talking about an incandescent light bulb — the kind that is sort of round or pear-shaped. Incandescent bulbs are not recyclable and also nontoxic, so it’s OK to put them in your regular trash. You might nestle them in used packaging or something else that will protect our waste disposal workers from potentially being exposed to broken glass.

I highly recommend replacing old bulbs with LEDs because they are much more energy efficient, nontoxic and may even be recyclable in some areas.
